Money

Ugh! A topic I’m not fond of, because I’ll rather spend my time being creative and having fun, than doing math… BUT, let’s be honest, none of that will be possible if you are worried about money or you don’t have any to fund the things you would like to spend your time on.

If we think about it, money is closely related to our previous post about space. If the spaces around us (that we have control over) are less cluttered and better organised, we buy less because we don’t want to undo all the effort we’ve put in to get them that way. It’s also easier to find stuff, because we have a bit of a system going and probably have a better idea of where to find them. So, no need to buy something you already own and that is going to do the job.

BUT I think the biggest connection between space and money (and discovering Ma) is psychological. For me, and I know many of my friends, I just feel better if I operate in a space that is clutter-free and conducive to my productivity and wellbeing. I don’t feel the constant need to escape and is more comfortable with the silences – I’m of the opinion that (unnecessary) shopping is just another form of escapism.

I’m by no means a financial expert, or even someone that has it all figured out (yet) in my own life – but I’m striving to get the money thing sorted. I’m constantly working on it and trying to get to the old clichĂ© of getting money to work for me.
